A standard robot filter is a plastic mesh screen. It catches leaves and grit, but the fine stuff — silt, pollen, algae spores, sunscreen oils — slips straight through and back into the pool. What NanoFilters™ are, how they differ from a mesh basket, and who actually needs them.
NanoFilters™ are Dolphin's most advanced filtration. Where a standard mesh filter only stops larger debris, NanoFilters™ use ultra-fine pleated media to trap particles down to the micron level — algae, pollen, sunscreen residue, fine sand and the oils that cloud water.
Originally developed for Dolphin's commercial robots, NanoFiltration™ is now standard on every ProLine™ model and available as an add-on for the Max-Series™ Cayman and Escape.
Standard mesh filters are fine for everyday debris — leaves, twigs and coarse dirt. But fine sediment, algae spores and microscopic contaminants pass straight through and get recirculated into the pool.
NanoFilters™ close that gap. The pleated design packs in several times the surface area with much tighter filtration, so the robot captures what a basket misses. The result is visibly clearer water and less reliance on chemicals to keep it that way.
